[Explanation] Dozens of young students from both sides of the strait gathered in Xiamen Xianyue Academy on August 12 to participate in a summer camp with the theme of "I Love Chinese Poems", recite traditional classics, chant poems and dialogue, and build friendship.

[Commentary] After Typhoon Mikra passed, the weather in Xiamen gradually became clear. Accompanied by the breeze of learning, the children of Taiwanese businessmen from Huli District climbed Xianyue Mountain together with their mainland classmates and walked into the quaint academy surrounded by greenery. Wearing traditional costumes, they sat at the desks and listened carefully to their husband’s poems about etiquette. They looked like students in ancient times.

I have been learning poetry since the first grade. Poetry is fine. We learn two characters now (in), and it can become one character (generalization) in ancient times (using poetry).

[Explanation] Lu Shangyang, who was in the third grade of Xiamen Jinshang Primary School, followed his father Lu Zhenhong to Xianyue Academy early in the morning. Lv Zhenhong told reporters that when he learned about this summer camp for poetry, he did not hesitate to sign up for it. In his opinion, it is very meaningful for children to contact and understand Tang poetry and Song Ci from an early age.

When a child is studying (poetry), he actually sees a lot of things, or sometimes when talking to others, others say these words (poetry), I think it will make him feel that I usually learn things at home, this I can use it all the time, so I feel that my confidence in my child will also increase. Therefore, I think it is a very good thing to let him learn poetry.

[Explanation] This summer camp will last for 1 day. In addition to the recitation of Chinese poetry and learning of flying flowers, children will also experience Chinese martial arts Baihequan. At the opening ceremony, Wu Jiaying, president of the Xiamen Taiwanese Investment Enterprise Association, attended and presented reading supplies to the students. He said that there are many cultural inheritance and research activities in the mainland, which can deepen children's knowledge and understanding of Chinese culture from an early age.

The development of the current social environment may be relatively lacking in understanding of traditional culture. Then we use this activity and have parents to accompany us to study together. I think it is very positive.

[Explanation] It is reported that this summer camp is held once a year, and this year is the 19th session. Affected by the epidemic, the number of activities is limited, but there are still many Taiwanese in Xiamen actively participating. They hope to use the summer vacation time to let the children communicate in activities, learn about Chinese culture, and better integrate into life on the mainland.
