“The question is urgent. If the leaders are fundamentally ready for a conversation, we propose to promptly coordinate the agenda, organizational modalities and timing of the video summit by the foreign ministries of seven states, ”the Kremlin press service quoted Putin as saying.
He noted that the purpose of the meeting is to outline steps to avoid confrontation and aggravation of the situation in the UN Security Council.
“We also propose during the meeting of the leaders to agree on the parameters of joint work in order to facilitate the formation of reliable mechanisms for ensuring security and confidence-building in the Persian Gulf zone,” Putin said.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the chances of returning the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) to resolve the Iranian nuclear program still remain.
