“The answer here is completely clear. Everything that has been done in terms of creating this vaccine product was done absolutely strictly in accordance with Russian legislation, which actually regulates the entire process of creating medicines and vaccine products, especially in emergency situations, ”he said.

Those who have suffered mild COVID-19 generally have "no long-term protection" against infection, he said.

“Proceeding from these factual prerequisites, this drug was created, in accordance with, I repeat, the 441st resolution, which can significantly reduce the time of drug development. Moreover, in no way reducing the number of those control research procedures that are aimed at proving the safety of this drug, ”the specialist added.

As noted by Gunzburg, this decree allows a number of studies to be carried out in parallel, but does not cancel any of them.

“Therefore, on the one hand, this (purely regulatory) fact made it possible to reduce the time required to create this drug. And at the same time, as I have already said many times, the vaccine was not created from scratch, ”the scientist explained.

He explained that for 20 years the institute's employees have been working to create the technology with which this vaccine was created.

“In total, to date, more than 3.5 thousand residents have received this vaccine preparation without any side effects - with the exception of those that usually occur with any vaccination. Namely: a slight rise in temperature, which is removed (as in the instructions - if you look at when it will be publicly available) just a pill of paracetamol, ”he concluded.

Earlier, Gunzburg said that the protective properties of the Russian vaccine will persist for at least two years after its introduction.

On August 11, Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced the registration of a vaccine against COVID-19 in Russia. It was named "Sputnik V".

According to the president, his daughter experienced the Russian vaccine herself.
