In a statement following the tripartite contact between His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, US President Donald Trump, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Anwar Muhammad Gargash, confirmed that the UAE has guaranteed during The phone call Israel pledges to halt annexation of Palestinian lands, which will preserve the two-state solution.
Gargash pointed out that the decision to stop annexing the Palestinian territories is a historic diplomatic achievement, adding that the UAE believes that its commitment to establishing normal bilateral relations with Israel will enable it, through direct communication, to play an influential role regarding the security and stability of the region, in cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries.
In this context, the UAE seeks to build on previous regional and international efforts aimed at finding a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and playing a constructive and positive role, as is always the case within a multilateral approach in addressing sensitive regional issues.
Gargash thanked the United States for its active role in achieving this step, stressing the UAE’s firm commitment to the Arab Peace Initiative and the Palestinian people's right to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He also indicated that this tripartite contact opens a new page of cooperation in many medical, economic, investment, tourism and technological fields, which enhances the prosperity of the peoples of the region as a whole.
In light of these developments, the UAE calls for a return to direct negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians, because they are the only two parties that can reach a lasting solution to this conflict.
