Benoît Cosnefroy (AG2R) and Nacer Bouhanni (Arkéa-Samsic) are the two main cards of the list unveiled on Friday by the coach of the French cycling team Thomas Voeckler for the road race of the European championships on August 26, at home in Plouay.

The man with the two yellow epics on the Tour gave seven of the eight names who will participate in the race for the star jersey: the puncher from AG2R and the sprinter from Arkéa-Samsic will be accompanied by Thomas Boudat (Arkéa-Samsic), Lilian Calmejane (Total Direct Energie), Cyril Gautier (B&B Hotels - Vital Concept), Olivier Le Gac (Groupama-FDJ) and Anthony Roux (Groupama-FDJ).

An eighth man has yet to be drawn from a shortlist of five names.

The successor of Italian sprinter Elia Viviani (Cofidis) will be appointed after 177 km of racing completed in 13 laps of a circuit passing through Plouay, without major difficulty.

For the men's time trial on August 24, Thomas Voeckler's choice logically fell on Rémi Cavagna (Deceuninck), specialist in solo effort, and Anthony Roux.

Juliette Labous (Sunweb) and Audrey Cordon-Ragot (Trek) are the two French representatives for the elite women's "chrono" disputed the same day and will also be the leaders of the French team in the road race (109 km , August 27).
