Britain signs an agreement to get 90 million doses of Corona vaccines

Britain said Friday that it has signed an agreement to obtain up to 90 million doses of potential vaccines for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) under development.

The government said new agreements in principle were signed with Novavax, the US, to develop vaccines, and the Belgian pharmaceutical company, Janssen, owned by Johnson & Johnson.

Novavax will provide 60 million doses and 30 million doses of Janssen have been secured.

With what Britain announced today, Friday, it has guaranteed early access to about 340 million vaccines.

The vaccines were from six different candidates related to four different types of vaccines.

"The government's strategy to prepare a portfolio of promising candidate vaccines will ensure that we have the best possible chance of finding a successful vaccine," Business Affairs Minister Alok Sharma said in a statement.
