The Swedish Board of Agriculture can currently not see any more smuggling cases, but there may be a dark figure according to Peter Ånge, administrator at the Swedish Board of Agriculture. Illegal introduction of dogs can spread infection and it is the task of the authority to prevent rabies from entering.

- Sweden has been rabies-free for over 100 years, but there are many countries where the rabies situation is quite serious, says Peter Ånge.
