Greece announced this Thursday the first case of coronavirus in a migrant camp on an island in the Aegean Sea, we learned from the Ministry of Migration. A 35-year-old Yemeni living in Vial camp on the island of Chios, which is home to more than 3,800 people, tested positive on Wednesday evening, an official at the ministry said on condition of anonymity.

“The man has been placed in quarantine at a local hospital. Thirty more people are being tested, ”he added. Cases have already been recorded in migrant camps in mainland Greece but this is the first case in one of the overcrowded camps located on islands.
