Journalist Valérie Trierweiler announced Thursday that she had been fired by Paris Match, confirming information from La Lettre de l'Audiovisuel.

"I learned in the middle of the summer and during my holidays in an extremely brutal way my dismissal from Paris Match where I had worked for thirty years," said Valérie Trierweiler on Twitter. "This dismissal without any valid reason leaves me in a state of shock and astonishment."

The ex-companion of François Hollande had been a huge success in bookstores in 2014 with "Thank you for this moment", his vengeful work on his years in a relationship with the socialist official who became President of the Republic.

Valérie Trierweiler, 55, has worked almost her entire career at Paris Match (Lagardère group), also conducting political interviews on Direct 8.
