The summer universities, classic political meetings at the end of the summer, will take place this year under special conditions, due to the health crisis. Some have opted for new formats, relocated or in larger premises. Others are considering organizing a fully virtual edition.

With the traditional summer universities, the parties are preparing for their political re-entry. They will take place at the end of summer, between the end of August and mid-September, under somewhat special conditions due to the sanitary situation. To maintain their summer rendezvous, all parties had to adapt. Some have opted for new formats, such as La République en Marche, which organizes the same weekend, 14 regional campuses rather than a single large gathering (September 12-13). The presidential party also leaves itself the possibility of canceling at the last moment depending on the health situation.

Towards a virtual edition for the Greens?

After having first thought of an entirely virtual edition, the Greens are also ready to readjust their event (August 20-22, in Pantin). "We have organized everything so that we can be extremely reactive in one direction or the other. We were able in a few days to organize the reception of the public but we will also be able to organize the return to 100% digital if the sanitary conditions require it, if the prefect requests it or if we believe that it must be done ", explained Marine Tondelier in charge of the organization, at the microphone of Europe 1 Thursday.

Larger premises for more distance

The same weekend, the Insoumis chose to meet in Valence, in an open place and a wooded park to guarantee the best sanitary conditions. To benefit from larger rooms and thus guarantee social distancing, the Socialists left La Rochelle for Blois (August 28-30).

No gathering for the RN

The Republicans have changed their place and date to have even more space and the possibility of being outdoors (September 4-5, at Port-Marly). Only the National Gathering will not welcome activists this year in Fréjus, where a small number of elected representatives will meet (September 5-6).
