On its Instagram account, STF shared the photo taken by two hikers, which shows everything from leftover beer bottles to plastic bags and old food. On Wednesday, STF's staff were up in the top cabin cleaning.

They write: "We want to remind you that there are no garbage trucks on the mountain and we all need help to take the rubbish back with us."

- This is not a new phenomenon for us. Along the trails, people do not leave as much rubbish, but with buildings in the form of emergency cabins and windbreaks, it is as if if one starts to leave, more people continue. And it is not only at Kebnekaise but in the whole mountain world, says Johanna Murray at STF.

STF has organized trips to the top of Kebnekaise and are the ones responsible for the safety cabin at the top, but otherwise they have no responsibility for the rubbish that hikers leave in the area.

The association already has a collaboration with Keep Sweden Clean and offers free garbage bags along the trails in the Kebekaise area. In addition, they offer all garbage collectors coffee when they arrive at the mountain station.
