Mexican Sergio Pérez (Racing Point) tested negative for the new coronavirus and allowed to participate in the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix from Friday to Sunday, his team announced on Twitter Thursday.

"We are pleased to announce that @SChecoPerez's COVID-19 test is negative. The FIA ​​(Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) has confirmed that Checo can return to the F1 paddock and that he will participate in the racing with the team this weekend, ”writes Racing Point.

Tested positive before the British Grand Prix on August 2, Pérez missed that race and the next, F1's 70-year-old Grand Prix, at the same Silverstone circuit. He had been replaced by the German Nico Hülkenberg.
