This is what Coldiretti estimates based on the indications of Terranostra Campagna Amica in underlining that "this year the number of Italians who decide to spend the day in an agritourism facility is growing even if the boom does not compensate for the absence of foreigners, by the Americans, especially in those regions where the presence of foreign guests can account for up to 60% of the total ". 

"After the difficulties caused by the lockdown, agritourism catering has resumed at full speed almost everywhere - continues Coldiretti - also here thanks to the greater ability to guarantee social distancing even at the table".

At the disposal of tourists, Coldiretti points out, "over 24,000 agritourism companies in Italy that are able to offer a potential of more than 262 thousand beds and 462 thousand covered places for refreshments, as well as 11,600 thousand pitches for agriculture. and over 1500 educational farm activities for the little ones.

"The Coldiretti vademecum for relaxing in the countryside recommends checking the possession of the municipal authorization or the relative permits for the exercise of the agritourism activity and it is preferable to choose the farmhouses in where agricultural work is visible and where the reception is taken care of directly by the farmer or his family. But since for the majority of guests the farmhouse means above all genuine foods and good nutrition, it is crucial - concludes Coldiretti - to check the link of the company with the agricultural activity, the type of company and the products grown directly and make sure that in the menu offered seasonal and typical foods of the area are indicated.
