Austrian Chancellor condemns violence against demonstrators in Belarus

At the same time, he called for the release of the protesters and an investigation of the deaths by an "independent party".

“A clear EU response is needed,” the Chancellor added.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called the situation in Belarus after the presidential election a tragedy.
