13 August 2020 The Ministry of Health has published the new guidelines on pharmacological abortion, which cancel the obligation of hospitalization from taking the Ru486 pill until the end of the care path and extend the period in which the drug can be used up to the ninth week of pregnancy. This was announced in a ministerial circular.

The new guidelines accept the opinion of the Superior Health Council published last August 4, and also recommend "to carry out continuous and in-depth monitoring of the procedures for voluntary termination of pregnancy with the use of drugs, having regard, in particular, to side effects resulting from the extension of the period in which the treatment in question is permitted ".
