INTERVIEW

More and more insecurity in France? Yes, to hear Nadine Morano. At the microphone of Europe 1, the LR MEP returned to the multiple attacks against mayors that have occurred in France in recent days. "We are facing a rise in violence in our country which is not tolerable", she said, recalling that according to the Association of Mayors of France, 233 elected officials had been victims of attacks from the beginning. of the year. In 2019, "it was more than 380. So more than one violent act per day, it's unbearable," says Nadine Morano.

"The penal response is not adapted, we need resources for justice"

To face it, the MEP proposes in particular to reinstate the minimum penalties. "We need a criminal response that is strong and measured in relation to what is happening in our country. A reminder of the law is not enough", justifies Nadine Morano. "We must have a penal response, but it must be accompanied by the execution of sentences. The penal response is not suitable, we need resources for justice and places in prisons", continues the elected Republicans at the microphone of Europe 1.
