WHO commented on registration of vaccine against COVID-19 in Russia

The WHO stressed that any safe and effective pandemic vaccine would be a global public good.

"WHO calls for quick, fair and equitable access to any such vaccines around the world," the organization commented on the development of the world's first coronavirus vaccine in Russia.

Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that Russia is the first country in the world to register a vaccine against COVID-19.

On August 11, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, said that 20 countries had sent Russia requests for a total of 1 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
