“In connection with multiple cyberattacks on the infrastructure of telecommunication networks of Belarusian operators and on the websites of state bodies and organizations from August 9 to 11, a significant restriction of access to Internet services and resources for subscribers was recorded,” the ministry said.

Currently, specialists have managed to almost completely restore the work of all Internet resources.

At the same time, the Ministry of Communications of Belarus recommended that operators consider the possibility of recalculating the subscription fee in connection with the situation.

In the morning of August 12, the work of social networks Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram and other platforms resumed in Minsk at the same time.

On August 9, the day of the presidential election, there were problems with the Internet in Belarus. 

Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko said that the Internet was disconnected in the country from abroad.
