Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that he had received a letter from his Russian colleague Vladimir Putin outlining the facts surrounding the situation with the 33 Russians detained in the republic.
In the Investigative Committee of Belarus, they said that the detainees were suspected of preparing mass riots.
The Investigative Committee of Russia organized an investigation in connection with the detention of Russian citizens in Belarus.
The Russian Foreign Ministry, in turn, called the detention of Russians in Belarus a provocation of a third country.
