The housing taste has been unusually strong this summer. The number of housing transactions increased by 20 percent in July compared with the same period last year. And for those who want to buy a new home can now count on spending more money. In the last three months, housing prices in the county have risen by 3.7 per cent on condominiums and 8.9 per cent on house prices.

- During the summer, sales have increased. This spring, it was calmer due to the corona pandemic as people did not know what would happen to the work and shutdowns of society. Now people have started to learn to live with it, says Oscar Carlson, real estate agent at Länsförsäkringar Fastighetsförmedling in Värmland.

House prices have risen the most in the country

In the past year, the prices of a condominium have fallen by 1.8 percent. On the other hand, the prices of the Värmland villas have risen sharply by 10.1 percent, which is the highest increase in the country. Oscar Carlsson believes that the explanation for this is partly that when there is a price increase in a smaller municipality with fewer total sales, it is higher when you calculate the price increase as a percentage. In three months, house prices in Forshaga municipality have increased by 11.8 percent, and as much as 18.6 percent in one year.

- You see Forshaga and Kil as a good alternative to Karlstad where you get a lot for your money, says Oscar Carlsson.
