Unlike cities such as Paris, Lille, Marseille or Nice, the wearing of a mask outdoors has so far not been imposed in Lyon. But that should change soon. The Deputy Mayor of Lyon in charge of Health, Céline de Laurens, indeed announced this Wednesday on BFM Lyon that the protective mask would soon become compulsory in certain streets.

These will be particularly busy and narrow arteries, where the risk of transmission of the coronavirus is the highest. A meeting will take place this morning at the town hall to decide on a precise zoning as well as a timetable.

Noting a resumption of circulation of the virus, the Prime Minister, Jean Castex, asked the prefects to encourage the municipalities to impose the wearing of masks outdoors in certain frequented sectors.
