The Ajaccio prosecutor's office on Wednesday opened an investigation for intentional homicide after the discovery of the body of a man in a parking lot in the town of Ota, in Southern Corsica. The victim, aged 36, presents "a gunshot wound in the abdomen". She was found next to her car.
The gendarmes were alerted "between 4.30 am and 5 am by a call from a friend of the victim who discovered the corpse near a place where an evening with friends was taking place, with about twenty people", a told AFP Sophia Taklanti, deputy prosecutor of Ajaccio.
Gendarmes and police will collaborate
The car park is located at the edge of a departmental road located below the place of the festival. An autopsy must take place. The gendarmerie and the judicial police were seized of the investigation by the prosecution.
According to a source familiar with the case, the victim has family ties with a person unfavorably known to the police.
