Sprinter Christophe Lemaitre was injured Tuesday during the 100m meeting in Turku (Finland), late resumption of international athletics due to the new coronavirus pandemic.

After finishing third in his heat (10.38), the 200m Olympic bronze medalist stopped his final halfway before exiting the track, limping and holding his right adductor. The Italian Marcell Jacobs won in 10 sec 11.

Lemaitre (30), affected by numerous injuries since the start of his career, took part in his third meeting this summer after two competitions of lower standing. He was scheduled to take part on Friday in the 200m meeting of the Monaco Diamond League, the first of the season with a classic form.
