"The United States welcomes Slovakia's recent actions to defend against threats posed by foreign maligners to its sovereignty," State Department spokesman Morgan Ortagus said in a statement.
The Slovak Foreign Ministry, as noted in the State Department, sent a clear signal that the department would not "put up with politically motivated criminal actions of Russia" on its territory or in Europe.
Earlier, the spokesman for the Slovak Foreign Ministry, Juraj Tomaga, said that several Russian diplomats should leave the country within the current week.
According to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the department will mirror the response to the possible expulsion of Russian diplomats.
