A shooting incident involving bodyguards took place near the White House in the United States, resulting in a brief suspension of official events.

On the afternoon of the 10th (local time), President Trump's COVID-19 briefing was being held at the White House.

According to the AFP news agency, while President Trump was speaking as usual, an SS agent protecting the president suddenly came to the podium.

He said in a low voice into President Trump's ear, "President, can you come with me?"

The briefing room full of reporters was closed as President Trump and White House officials followed their bodyguards and left.

At that time, White House bodyguards dressed in black were running to the scene across the White House gardens with automatic rifles.

A Fox News broadcast camera reporter outside the White House told the situation at the time that they had heard two gunshots.

"The scream was a male voice," said Filipos Melaku, who was protesting near the White House.

Melaku added, "At the same time, at least 8 to 9 men ran out aiming at the AR-15 (a type of assault rifle, a small automatic rifle)," he added.

The outline of the entire incident was summarized by a bodyguard shooting an armed man near the White House.

The Secret Service said, "At the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and 17th Street, an agent was involved in the shooting."

The incident was located one block from the White House, not on the grounds of the White House.

President Trump came back minutes after leaving the briefing room with his bodyguards to outline the situation.

"The law enforcement agent shot someone," he said. "It looks like a criminal, but the suspect is being taken to the hospital."

President Trump is witnessing a fierce divide in public opinion over his policies ahead of the November presidential election.

"It may not have anything to do with me," he said, stating that he did not know the identity of the person who was shot or the motive behind the action.

It has not been disclosed what kind of threats the person being shot had made and whether they were stopped by bodyguards.

When asked if he was armed, President Trump replied, "As far as I know."

"I don't seem to have violated anything," he said. "They were relatively far away (on the grounds of the White House)."

After regaining his composure, President Trump continued to criticize the opposition Democratic Party and praise his response to Corona 19 again.

When asked if he was embarrassed by the shooting, President Trump asked again, "I don't know, but does I seem embarrassed?"

President Trump said, "I'm sorry that the world is like this." "The world has always been a dangerous place."
