“Tikhanovskaya’s call not to go out on the streets could have been made under pressure. For three hours, Svetlana was in the same office of the CEC with two high-ranking officers of the security forces. This video message was recorded at that time, ”TASS quoted Kolesnikova as saying.

She noted that after Tikhanovskaya left for Lithuania, there was no connection with her, her plans were not known to the headquarters.

“I only know that she is safe, I know about two video messages. She hasn’t been able to get through yet, ”she said.

Earlier, the head of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry Linas Linkevicius said that Tihanovskaya was in Lithuania. He later added that the politician was detained for seven hours on Belarusian territory before arriving in the country.

Tikhanovskaya recorded a video message about her departure to Lithuania amid protests in Belarus. Later, Tikhanovskaya's second video message appeared, where she reads out a text in which she urges Belarusians not to go out to the square not to confront the police.
