Former Argentina captain Agustin Creevy, 35, has signed a contract with the London Irish in England's first rugby division "with immediate effect," the club announced on Tuesday.

"Argentina international Agustin Creevy has agreed to join the London Irish with immediate effect," the club wrote in a statement.

The hooker, the most capped player of the Argentine selection with 89 games played, has been playing with the Jaguares since 2016, a team made up of almost all Argentinian internationals and who play in Super Rugby alongside South African, New Zealand and Australian franchises. .

"I can't wait to join the London Irish and play in England again," Agustin Creevy said in the club's statement. He had worn the Worcester Warriors jersey from 2013 to 2015.

"Agustin comes to the London Irish with a fantastic national and international experience," said the club's sporting director, Declan Kidney.

The London Irish are currently 8th in the championship, interrupted in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, but only 7 points from qualifying places for the finals.
