The experience turned into a nightmare. Eight people were hospitalized after taking part in a survival course scheduled all weekend in the Kervignac forest, not far from Lorient (Morbihan). A 26-year-old man collapsed late Saturday afternoon and has since been in a coma. Seven other camp participants were also taken to hospital after suffering discomfort and vomiting, reports Ouest-France .

The police opened an investigation. The trail of poisoning by a wild plant is preferred. The 26-year-old Parisian is said to have cooked and eaten plants at lunchtime. Other participants would then have tasted its preparation.

The survival course was organized by John Malardé, a former member of the Special Forces.
