His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, launched the “Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Medical Research”, the first independent biomedical research center in the UAE, with a total value of 300 million dirhams.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum emphasized that medical research is an essential part of the community protection and medical security system in the UAE. His Highness said: “Supporting research is a guarantee for the sustainability of economic, social and human development.” His Highness mentioned important milestones in the history of medical research in the region. He said, "Scientific research has been an approach for scientists and researchers for many centuries in our region, and it is a main guarantee for a more stable and healthy future."

This came during the visit of His Highness, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Al Jalila Foundation, to the facility's headquarters Alami, which was launched with the aim of focusing on research on diseases prevalent in the country, in addition to medical research on "Covid-19", within the Al Jalila Foundation, one of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's global initiatives.

On the occasion of the center’s launch, His Highness said: “This is a new step for the UAE in the way of caring for people, preserving their health and ensuring their future .. The center will work to develop research that is compatible with our environment and the nature of the health needs of our community, and it will be an addition that supports the global network of medical research centers, as it is part of The contribution of the UAE in the field of biomedical research in the world, and its results will be available to other centers.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, during the visit to the headquarters of the Center, which was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Secretary General of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Initiatives Maktoum International, Muhammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, included a number of scholars and specialists, and listened to them for explanations about their research projects, as well as reviewed the achievements of the Al Jalila Foundation and the group of qualitative research that it supports.
