After eight months without performing live, the group Taburete performed in Marbella, at the Starlite festival, this weekend. Despite this, their return to the stage did not raise the headlines they expected. On the contrary, the singer Willy Bárcenas (31) and his companions unleashed hundreds of criticisms and not precisely for their musical quality, but for - supposedly - 'encouraging' their audience not to use masks. However, and after receiving numerous comments from other artists, the leader of the band has decided to speak loud and clear and ensure that he would never endanger his audience . "In case everything was misunderstood, I apologize and explain," he said in a video.

During the morning of this Saturday, various videos of Stool began to haunt the web. In some it was possible to see that part of the Starlite audience did not wear a mask and in others, as the singer said the phrase "not a fucking mask" , while singing his hit song 'Sirens'. Two situations that were highly outrageous for various tweeters and even for other musicians, such as Ricky Merino, Cepeda, Omar Montes or Lola Indigo , who criticized the group during a presentation in Castellón. "It is irresponsible for any artist to encourage the public not to comply with safety regulations," said Mimi Doblas.

On the other hand, other Spanish personalities - alien to the world of music - also wanted to comment on the subject. For example, the journalist Mamen Mendizábal , who directly attacked Bárcenas on Twitter, in addition to throwing an acid dart at her father, former PP treasurer Luis Bárcenas. "The Bárcenas are patriots. The denialist son of masks, the father of paying taxes. One is already in jail," he tweeted and later repented and deleted his comment.

Likewise, Pablo Echenique decided to enter the debate on August 8, with a controversial writing. "Here the singer of Taburete encouraging his audience:" not a fucking mask. "This Abascal and Casado are not going to denounce it because there are many voters here. Better to spread the Nazi hoax that the outbreaks are caused by an invasion of poor immigrants They do not vote. They yell at you that hordes of infected immigrants invade us to make you forget the Cayetans who packed a bullring with Abascal and last night went to a concert by Taburete in Marbella. Criminalize the poor to protect their privileges of the gentlemen, "wrote the deputy, causing an extensive debate on the internet.

As a result, Stool decided to issue a statement, which they subsequently chose to remove from their social network. "Let us work, make music and don't waste time behind your keyboards writing from hatred and misinformation and go to see the bulls, to discos, parties, barbecues and other concentrations, which -by the way- are the main focuses of shoots, not concerts. Worry about your responsibility, we already do it for ours ", they declared with impulsive honesty. However, they did not find support in the tweeting community or their fellow guild.

"You say that we worry about our responsibility. But I do worry about your responsibility. Sorry, about your irresponsibility. Because we are hundreds of artists who are fighting to show that concerts are a safe place. You say that we let you work, but Maybe attitudes like yours prevent the rest from working, " wrote Rayden, who -in a few minutes- received 24,000" likes "on Twitter. Among them, that of Luis Cepeda, who wrote "I agree, from the affection I have for you, Stool." But the 'former triumph' did not receive any public response from the group, which finally explained what happened this Sunday.

"At the end of the concert, when the euphoria of the people grows, our euphoria also grows and, after eight months without playing, when we are playing the song of 'Sirenas', I look at it and I see that many people have lowered their masks . So hence the phrase I say about 'not a fucking mask.' I do it more as a reproach or as a comment that I am not seeing the masks , not encouraging people in any case to remove their masks, because it would be reckless and in no case have we wanted to do something like that ", Willy Bárcenas clarified in a video that has already been shared 2,100 times and that, despite its controversy, has generated a positive response from his unconditional fans.

Even so, several detractors of Stool and even organizations such as FACUA have asked the Junta de Andalucía to investigate the group's concert in Starlite, due to the little use of the mask and the alleged lack of social distance. "If the irregularities are confirmed, we hope that the corresponding sanctioning file will be initiated, as well as inspection work will be carried out in the next events that take place in the festival," the association told Europa Press on August 10. However, those responsible for the festival -as well as Stool- continue to affirm that there was no irresponsibility during the show and that the concert was performed under "the most rigorous security measures"
