Despite a certain increase in the number of registered corona cases in Sweden, the situation looks relatively bright in the country, according to Anders Tegnell, who began today's press conference on the corona pandemic. But at the same time, there is concern about the increase among young people.

- We see a large increase among young people in recent times. It is important now, not least now when people come back from vacation, that you stay home if you feel sick. You should think of an extra turn if you have traveled in countries with a large spread. If you can work from home a few days after you get home, it is a good measure, he says.

"It will be a tough autumn"

The opening of the schools next week makes the authorities worried about an increased spread of infection, not only among young people but in society as a whole. This is because they fear increased pressure both in public transport and on the roads. In order to reduce the pressure, it is therefore possible for the schools to continue to conduct distance learning.

- It is good that the teaching can take place in the school, but the Swedish school handled the spring in a very good way. We have seen that the results actually improved in both primary and secondary school, says Peter Fredriksson, Director General of the National Agency for Education.

- You can have distance education if teachers and students belong to risk groups, if teachers show symptoms or if you fear congestion in public transport.

To protect staff and students, Peter Fredriksson opened up for, for example, development talks and teacher meetings at a distance.

- It's not as usual. This autumn, too, the school cannot do everything it wants or needs to do. It was a tough spring and it will be a tough autumn.
