“We urge the workers of the domestic media to fully comply with its legislation when carrying out professional activities on the territory of Belarus. I would like to hope that the Belarusian side will contribute to the normal organization of such activities, ”the ministry said in a commentary.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed by phone with his Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Makei the incident with the detention of Russian journalists in Minsk.

On August 9, three journalists from the Dozhd TV channel were detained in Belarus. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the incident occurred due to the lack of the necessary accreditation.

They were later released after being banned from entering Belarus for five years.
