Also, the Belarusian president said that the situation was tense at night, but the police coped. 

Lukashenka said that the army and the Security Service were involved in the evacuation of election commissions. 

“There were 33 such commissions - we evacuated them without any problems. We worked very quickly and accurately on the counting of votes at the polling stations and stabilized the situation, ”he said.

Lukashenka also announced about the protesters' attempts to seize the buildings of the authorities.

On August 9, presidential elections were held in Belarus. Against the background of the elections, protests took place in 33 settlements of the country.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that 39 security officials and 50 civilians were injured during the protests. It was also reported about the detention of about 3 thousand people.
