Early elections must take place

Since Sunday and in the face of protests from an exhausted population, four ministers have already submitted their resignation: that of Finance Ghazi Wazni, that of Justice Marie-Claude Najm, that of Information Manal Abdel Samad and that of Environment Damianos Kattar. Hassan Diab's cabinet was formed in January after Saad Hariri's resignation under pressure from an unprecedented popular protest movement.

On Saturday, Hassan Diab had indicated that he was ready to remain in office for two months, until the organization of early elections in a country dominated by the armed movement of Hezbollah, an ally of Iran and the regime. of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.
