At around 3 pm on Monday, the rescue service was alerted to a fire in Sundtorp in Katrineholm municipality. Several people had seen smoke rising towards the sky from the forest and several units rushed to the scene.

At around 6 pm, the rescue service stated that the fire was under control after an area of ​​approximately one hectare (100 x 100 meters) had been ravaged by fire.

The firefighting work was somewhat hampered by the difficult terrain, but according to Frank Granath, internal commander of Räddsam Mälardalen, no buildings were ever threatened.
