The woman and three of the men are suspected of kidnapping and extortion. They are suspected of being in the home where the 35-year-old man was detained against his will and subjected to blackmail through threats and violence for about 8-10 hours.

- The purpose has been to secure money, says prosecutor Lukas Tigerstrand.

One at a time has been detained

The fourth man is suspected of aiding and abetting a crime.

The woman is the only one of the suspects who was known to the 35-year-old before.

- It is investigative work that has led to finding the suspects and they have been detained one at a time, says Lukas Tigerstrand.

Blood and DNA traces

During the summer, extensive interrogations were held, and in addition, traces were secured in the home in question. Among other things, blood and DNA traces will be analyzed at the National Forensic Center to see if the traces can link some of the suspects to the crime scene.

- We also map transactions that have to do with the extortion part, says Lukas Tigerstrand.

Good evidence

When prosecution can be brought is unclear, it depends, among other things, on how long the analyzes take.

- My current opinion is that the evidence will be enough to prosecute - but the question is whether all five can be prosecuted, says Lukas Tigerstrand.

The suspected perpetrators are in their 25s and 35s.
