Previously, the football association has advised clubs not to bring in spectators at the matches, despite the fact that gatherings of up to 50 people are allowed.

But if the clubs can now meet certain requirements, such as that the match is played on a fenced sports field and that spectators who do not belong to the same company can keep a distance of at least 1.5 meters, then SvFF thinks it is ok with an audience.

Welcome by IFK Eskilstuna

The decision is welcomed by Åsa Åderman who is chairman of IFK Eskilstuna whose men play in division 2. In their matches, the public has not been allowed the three matches they have had time to play this season.

- Normally we have about 150 people in the audience and this is much better but it will be difficult to sift through those who are interested in coming and checking out, she says when she is reached by the news.

However, she sees challenges in how to handle the situation.

- There are about 20 people who have season tickets, and we must make sure that they get a ticket to the matches to begin with, she says.

Up to the clubs to deal with

Andreas Jansson is head of communications at SvFF and he says that he trusts that the clubs will now handle the situation in a safe way.

- Recently, the clubs have learned to handle the current situation in a good way and they have created routines that make people think that this can work, he says.

How do you see the risks of more than 50 people showing up for a match in, for example, Division 2?

- It is up to each club to make an assessment and fulfill their responsibility. Football clubs are regular organizers of public events and I think you have good conditions to make good assessments.
