[Explanation] As the new crown epidemic eases, Canadian tourism is striving to seize the few opportunities for recovery this year. Popularity is recovering on the Canadian side of the Niagara Falls group of well-known scenic spots on the Canada-US border.

[Explanation] In Niagara, of course, you have to appreciate the beauty of the Great Falls up close and feel its momentum. Cruise is one of the best ways.

[Explanation] At present, the Canadian side of the waterfall has entered the third stage of Ontario's economic restart. A cruise ship with a full capacity of 700 people is allowed to accommodate about 15% of the passenger capacity, or 100 people. On the US side, a cruise ship with a full capacity of 500 people is allowed to accommodate 250 people.

[Explanation] From the footage taken by the reporter, it can be seen that there are obviously more American cruise ship passengers wearing blue raincoats than Canadian cruise ship passengers wearing red raincoats. Public opinion believes that the difference in the number of passengers on cruise ships between Canada and the United States reflects the difference in the strength of the two countries in fighting the epidemic.

[Explanation] There are different ways to play in Niagara. For example, take a helicopter to overlook the Great Falls; take a walk to the Clifton Hill amusement block, experience the Ferris wheel, stroll around the dinosaur park and various amusement projects; free yourself on the zipline next to the waterfall.

[Explanation] The tourism practitioners here have recently expressed their expectation for tourists to return to China News Agency reporters, and they have constantly emphasized the word "safety".

[Concurrent period] Vice President and General Manager of Cruise Company Mory DiMaurizio (Mory DiMaurizio)

The challenge is to keep everything as safe as possible, and companies need to "be cautious at all times." We have taken very good measures, and the implementation is now very good.

[Concurrent] Joel Noden, Marketing Director of Amusement District Management Company

We have a Clifton Hill Amusement District "Ambassador" during peak hours. They wear yellow shirts and will remind everyone to keep a safe distance and wear masks. We have also prepared disinfectant hand sanitizer for tourists, and hundreds of disinfection hand sanitizer supply points have been set up.

[Concurrent] Lindsay Dicosimo, Marketing Manager, Zipline Operating Company (Lindsay Dicosimo)

We are an outdoor amusement project, surrounded by fresh air, and there is a safe distance of more than 6 feet between the ziplines to avoid the spread of the virus. The epidemic prevention policies and measures we follow make Niagara a safe place to stay and play here.

[Explanation] However, Canada’s border closure order has not yet been lifted, and at this stage the tourism industry can only rely on domestic tourists.

[Concurrent] Janice Thomson, President and CEO of Niagara Falls Tourism Bureau (Janice Thomson)

(Restart) It went well, and it is proceeding very slowly and gradually.

We are promoting local tourist tourism, encouraging tourists who are 4 hours drive to visit and share the journey.

[Commentary] The person in charge of Niagara Falls Tourism Bureau also expressed his expectation for Chinese tourists to return to the Great Falls.

[Concurrent] Janice Thomson, President and CEO of Niagara Falls Tourism Bureau (Janice Thomson)

The Chinese market is very important to us at Great Falls. We have enjoyed the relationship we have established with Chinese visitors through the tourism trade department over the years. We can't wait to see you again soon.
