"At the election of the head of state, 5767 polling stations were formed, all of them are ready to receive voters," TASS reports.

In addition, 44 more sites operate in 36 countries, including in the diplomatic missions of Belarus in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad.

It is expected that about 6.8 million Belarusian citizens will be able to vote in the elections.

Polling stations will be open from 8:00 to 20:00. 

The current president Alexander Lukashenko, co-chairman of the public association “Tell the Truth” Andrei Dmitriev, former deputy of the lower house of parliament Anna Kanopatskaya, wife of blogger Sergei Tikhanovsky Svetlana and chairman of the Belarusian Social Democratic “Hramada” (BSDG) Sergei Cherechen are running for the post of head of state. 

The turnout in early voting in the presidential elections in Belarus was 32.24%.

A Federation Council delegation arrived in Minsk to observe the presidential elections in Belarus.
