"Go and stone yourself at home .. We have no places." With these words, one of the nurses at Al-Razi Hospital in the city of Aleppo addressed the patient, Ahmad Al-Ahmad, who was transferred by his family after a bout of shortness of breath that he had suffered 3 days ago after his infection with the Coronavirus worsened in the city under the control of the Syrian regime.

Al-Ahmad (a pseudonym) said that he was unable to obtain a room in government hospitals to follow up on his deteriorating health, and had to contact a specialist doctor in order to secure an oxygen cylinder and a ventilator in his home.

He confirmed to Al-Jazeera Net that immunomodulatory drugs, such as vitamin C and fever reducers, have become lost in the market due to the monopoly of merchants and raise their prices to record levels. Obtaining fever-reducing medications in pharmacies and hospitals.

And the Ministry of Health in the regime’s government announced - in the latest statistics - that the number of injured people in Aleppo reached 95, but some residents and doctors from the city questioned this number, stressing that the number is much greater than the advertiser. Due to their knowledge of relatives of those infected with the virus, their number exceeds dozens, and most of them did not find room for quarantine and treatment in hospitals.

Civilians from Aleppo believe that the Syrian regime is adopting a security solution in the face of the Corona epidemic, using its security arms from the intelligence and security branches to prevent talking about the disease and its spread, and recording deaths from the epidemic as heart disease and diabetes.

The focus of an epidemic and
a doctor from Aleppo (who refused to reveal his name) said that the number of injured people in the city is estimated in hundreds of cases, since hospitals and medical centers do not perform medical swabs for only 10% of patients suspected of being infected, except for cases that are not subject to any treatment or medical examination and are in contact with civilians .

The doctor confirmed to Al-Jazeera Net that an elderly man named Farouk Mawlawi died yesterday of his infection with the virus, after all hospitals in the city refused to receive him, which reflects the size of the outbreak of the epidemic, and the inability to absorb more patients.

He warned that the city had become a focus of the epidemic due to the weak isolation measures by the population, the weak health system in the city, and its inability to cope with the increasing numbers, calling on the people to be careful and not leave the house unless absolutely necessary.

On Saturday, the Ministry of Health announced the registration of 65 new injuries, which raises the injuries in the regime-held areas to 1125 (communication sites)

The impact of the siege

, the pro-Syrian media and correspondent of the Syrian channel, Shadi Helwa, attributes the lack of medical capabilities and the lack of swabs to the siege and the sanctions imposed on Syria, which was reflected in the provision of artificial respirators and medicines needed to treat virus patients in the regime's areas.

The journalist believes that the Ministry of Health does not have the necessary capabilities to conduct one or two thousand swabs per day, considering that the idea of quarantine is not forthcoming, because there are people who work on a daily (daily) system, and if they stop working, they will not be able to feed their families.

As of Saturday evening, the Ministry of Health in the government of the Syrian regime announced the registration of 65 new injuries, which raises the number of injuries recorded in the regime-controlled areas to 1,125, which is the highest number since the first injury was recorded last March.
