09 August 2020 One of the great journalists of the twentieth century Enzo Biagi was born one hundred years ago. Seventy years of career, for more than forty he remained linked to Rai where he joined as director of the news in 1961. One of the most innovative and popular journalists in the history of Italian television, Biagi has produced over one hundred programs for the public service, with more of a thousand episodes, with which he told pages of the country's history. Rich programming of networks and Rai news programs to remember the journalist who revolutionized the language of television with his programs. All the episodes of "RT, Rotocalco Televisivo", the first investigation program of Italian television, are available on Raiplay. Made by Biagi in 1962, it also marks his debut in studio conduction. Among the episodes of "RT", some are considered milestones of television information, such as the first, which aired on March 31, 1962 with two extraordinary reports: "The wall", signed by Biagi himself, on Berlin divided by a barrier of cement and "Report from Corleone, among the first Rai investigations on the Sicilian mafia.

Pianaccio, the hamlet of Lizzano in Belvedere where Biagi was born and where his remains now rest, to celebrate the centenary, the municipal administration of Lizzano proposes, at 5 pm, the inauguration of the renovated Enzo Biagi Museum with the opening of a photographic exhibition: the life-size statue of the journalist by the Japanese sculptor Yasuyuky Morymoto welcomes visitors in the entrance courtyard. At 5.30 pm, the presentation of the commemorative stamp issued by the Ministry of Economic Development, by Poste Italiane, will follow. Finally, at 6 pm Via Enzo Biagi will be inaugurated with the unveiling of the plaque.
