Maryland, in the eastern United States, is considered a state where quarantine is a model. This is because of the aggressive measures of Governor Larry Hogan, who has a Korean wife. In an exclusive interview with SBS, he said that he would purchase additional Korean diagnostic equipment.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan expressed dissatisfaction with the speed of corona19 diagnostic tests using US-made equipment.

It is said that some laboratories are struggling with quarantine as it takes ten days for test results to come out.

On the other hand, the Korean diagnostic equipment, which results in a single day, was also strategically stockpiled, but the demand was so high that he would purchase more in the fall.

[Larry Hogan/Maryland Governor: We will definitely come back to Korea and place additional orders for more diagnostic tests.]

Maryland's weekly average confirmed rate was 3.9%, the lowest since the coronavirus outbreak.

He credited it because he followed active Korean quarantine measures.

[Larry Hogan/Maryland Governor: It was a good example for us to deal with the virus in Korea. We followed it well.]

He criticized the remarks at the Republican Governor's dinner in February, when President Trump said that Koreans are terrible and that he doesn't like dealing with President Moon Jae-in.

A few days later, at a White House dinner, Mrs. Yoomi Hogan met with Vice President Pence and told him to tell President Trump that he should not speak insulting Koreans.

[Larry Hogan/Maryland Governor: When she spoke directly to President Trump to the Vice President, she said the remarks were terrible. I asked the president to tell him that he shouldn't say that. My wife is pretty rough.] In a

recent poll, Governor Hogan was ranked number one among all US governors with 76 percent approval.

Governor Hogan's political leadership gained through overcoming the corona pandemic is expected to attract more attention in the future.
