It was earlier this summer that Mörbylånga municipality launched a mobile app that bathers could use to find out in advance if it was crowded at the bathing area. Eight of the municipality's bathing areas are measured regularly during the day and show with the help of red, yellow or green whether there is congestion or not.

"Did not know it exists"

But when the high summer heat was heavy over Öland on Sunday, few of the visitors to Talludden's bathing area knew about the app. But all the more who went there to swim.

- I did not know that it exists, says Anna Karlsson who was one of the bathers at Tallludden.

Would you have used it if you had known about it?

- Yes, I might have done that. But you usually have a pretty good idea of how many people there are anyway. Today it is good weather and there will be a lot of people, so then we were here early, so we can leave here before there are too many people, she says.

"Should not be crowded around us"

- It sounds like a good app, I do not know it, says Olof Elm who also went to Talludden to swim.

Right now the app shows in red, that there are quite a lot of people here, what do you think about it?

- We will keep a little to ourselves, so that it will not be too crowded around us, he says and adds that on days when it is very full, he and his family who live nearby usually look for more secluded places where tourists not find.
