In second place was Brazil, which exceeded 3 million cases and 100,000 deaths. In the latest report by the Brazilian health authorities it is indicated that in the last 24 hours 49,970 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed, bringing the general total of infected to 3,012,412. In South Africa over 10 thousand deaths
South Africa has surpassed 10,000 coronavirus deaths since the outbreak appeared in that country in March. The South African Ministry of Health said so. According to Health Minister Zweli Mkhize, 301 new deaths from the virus have been recorded in the past 24 hours. "We have exceeded the limit of 10,000 deaths, with 10,210 deaths in total," he said. More than half of the new deaths occurred in the KwaZulu-Natal province (southeast). "The peak (of the epidemic) is here," Mkhize said Saturday, visiting a hospital in that province.
