Afghanistan Taliban Allowance for Hostage Release Focus on progress of ceasefire talks 20:50 August 9

In Afghanistan, the National Assembly of Loya Jirga, which decided the important policy of the country, was held and adopted a resolution allowing the government to release the Taliban's hostages in order to achieve peace with the anti-government armed Taliban.
The future focus will be on the progress of the ceasefire talks.

Loya Jirga, which started on the 7th in Kabul, the capital, was attended by more than 3,000 people including religious leaders and ethnic representatives.

In Afghanistan, following the peace agreement between the US and the Taliban in February, the government and the Taliban said that they were working to release hostages toward the realization of ceasefire talks and were involved in serious crimes such as murder at the meeting. The focus was on the release of 400 detained Taliban fighters.

Attendees also objected to the liberation, saying that Taliban fighters could join terrorism and combat again, but both the government and the Taliban would permanently cease combat, or post-liberation. We have adopted a resolution allowing the release of hostages on the condition that the ceasefire talks be opened promptly.

After closing, President Gani said he would "respect the resolution" and said he would release 400 Taliban fighters and others in the near future.

In Afghanistan, the government and the Taliban have continued fighting since the peace agreement between the United States and the Taliban, and the deterioration of public security has not been stopped.
