US President Donald Trump pledged that he would quickly conclude agreements with North Korea and Iran if he wins a second presidential term in the next November elections, without specifying the conditions he wants for such agreements.

In a press conference held yesterday at a golf resort he owned in Bedminster, New Jersey, Trump said that had he not won the 2016 elections, the United States might have ended up in a very bad war with North Korea.

He added that his administration had established relations with North Korea, something that previous administrations could not achieve, as he put it.

Regarding Iran, the US president said that it is "eager" to strike a deal with the United States.

Trump withdrew in May 2018 from the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and the major powers, and re-imposed severe sanctions on it, and he considers that the agreement is bad because it enabled Tehran of money used in its weapons programs.

Trump wants a new agreement that imposes tight restrictions on Iran's arms programs, including nuclear and missile programs, and limits its influence in the region, while Iran requires lifting sanctions first.

The US President had held two summits in 2018 and 2019 with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un; In pursuit of an agreement ending the state of war between the two countries and disarming Pyongyang's nuclear weapons, but the two summits did not lead to an agreement.
