This autumn, colleges, universities and high schools will return to traditional teaching after a spring semester that was largely conducted remotely due to the corona pandemic.

The fact that many of the students return to schools on a normal autumn would not have meant any difficulties from an infection point of view. But that teaching is conducted in the classrooms, that students share the toilets and that they eat together in canteens will be something that schools must relate to in order to limit the spread of infection due to the corona pandemic, according to Region Kronoberg's infection control doctor Christian Romin Blomkvist.

- You should think about trying to keep your distance, stay at home if you are ill, clean common "roof surfaces" properly and have good hand hygiene. It is important to try to maintain those routines. If you do that, I think it can work for the high school students to return this fall, he says.

"Already have socializing"

During Tuesday's press conference, state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell answered the question of whether he believes that the spread of infection will increase as upper secondary schools will open up in the autumn and once again conduct teaching on the premises.

- Yes, possibly. On the other hand, these people have already met a lot when schools have been closed. Our opinion is that they already have a very large social interaction today, so we do not think there will be a huge difference, he said then.
