Aktay said - after a meeting with Lebanese President Michel Aoun - that Turkey is placing the Turkish port of Mersin near Beirut at the disposal of Lebanon, to be used for storing large goods and commodities, until the Beirut port is re-established, and goods and commodities are transported after that by small ships to other Lebanese ports. .

He also announced that all of his country's hospitals, and its ambulance aircraft, will be of service to Lebanon. To treat the injured in the Beirut port explosion, stressing that Turkey is ready to provide more food and medical aid to Lebanon.

He pointed out that, immediately after the explosion, Turkey sent a relief crew to help in search and rescue work, and that this crew was still continuing its activities in the area of ​​the explosion in the port of Beirut.

Aktay added that Turkey has also sent two mobile hospitals and medical teams to Beirut, and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) sent about 400 tons of aid, in addition to aid sent by other Turkish organizations such as AFAD and the Turkish Red Crescent.
