Four members of the professional workforce of Toulouse have tested positive for covid-19, including coach Patrice Garande and his assistant, forcing the cancellation of the friendly football match scheduled for Saturday night against Rodez.

In a press release, the Toulouse club indicates that the tests carried out on Thursday came back positive for "Patrice Garande, his assistant Jean-Marie Huriez and two players".

The club takes the opportunity to send a prevention message stressing "the importance of respecting barrier gestures (...) while the number of positive cases of Covid-19 is currently increasing in Occitanie, including in the age group 20 -30 years".

By the end of June, four players had already tested positive, to which a fifth case had been added a week later.

This new wave of contamination within the Toulouse club could disrupt the resumption of the championship at the Stadium on August 22 with a first meeting against Dunkirk.
