The Emirates Red Crescent Authority had started implementing the directives of the wise leadership, from the very beginning, and began providing aid from the strategic stockpile of relief materials, which are used in cases of emergency and urgent crises.

The Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, Dr. Muhammad Ateeq Al Falahi, affirmed that the directives of the wise leadership came within the framework of the efforts undertaken by the UAE and its wise leadership to limit the repercussions of disasters and crises, and alleviate human suffering around the world, and these directives also embody the leadership’s interest in the implications of the humanitarian disaster. That befell its brothers in Lebanon, and its unlimited solidarity with the victims and the injured. He said that the authority has developed a comprehensive humanitarian response plan, to deal with the disaster and its humanitarian repercussions, which includes several stages, and at this stage the focus will be on medical aids and supplies, to enhance the ability of Lebanese health institutions to provide the necessary medical care to the injured, and help them perform their role towards them in these circumstances, In light of the large number of victims and wounded, pointing out that the scale of the disaster has weighed on the medical services in Lebanon, so they must be supported and supported, and the obstacles and challenges facing them must be overcome. In another axis, Al-Falahi emphasized that the authority’s response plan allocated a large amount of aid to provide the needs of children, take care of their health and psychology, and create appropriate conditions for treating the injured and affected by them, especially since the reports received from the site of the event indicate an increase in the numbers of children affected by the disaster. The Secretary General of the Red Crescent indicated that the organization is working, in coordination with the Humanitarian Aid Office of the State’s embassy in Beirut, to expand the umbrella of the beneficiaries of the agency’s aid in the Lebanese arena at the present time, to strengthen the response plan on the ground, and to define the priorities in the next phase, and the actual needs of The reality of field monitoring and the daily follow-up that the office performs in cooperation and coordination with the competent Lebanese authorities.
